ANGIE J. MARROQUIN GARCIA, LPCA

Licensed Professional Counselor Associate

MEET ANGIE (she/her/hers)

My approach to counseling is to create a comfortable, warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients can feel heard and empowered to explore their thoughts and emotions. I believe that therapy is a space where you feel secure enough to explore whatever is bringing you to counseling. I enjoy working with individuals experiencing anxiety, stress, communication difficulties, and other life challenges. In a collaborative relationship, we will explore patterns that may be obstacles and develop tools and coping skills to help you move toward the life you want. My role as a clinician is to support and encourage you to achieve your goals and create significant change.

My style is relaxed, conversational, and collaborative. I want you to feel heard and supported. I know that every person is different, so I tailor therapy to meet your individual needs. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, stress, communication challenges, or other life concerns, I'll meet you where you are and at your comfort pace. When working with children, I use play therapy techniques to help them express themselves in ways that feel natural and comfortable. Which, for children it can be through play and artistic means.

As a bilingual therapist, I offer counseling in both English and Spanish. I understand that it can be easier to express your thoughts and emotions in your native language, and I want you to feel comfortable communicating in the language that feels most natural to you. I also bring a culturally informed perspective when working with Latino/a clients, as someone from a similar background. I value the important roles that culture can play in one's identity and life experiences. I am happy to work with individuals from all backgrounds and provide adequate space for you to feel respected and understood.
