Dyslexia Testing in Kentucky for Kids and Adults

If you or your child struggles with reading, spelling, or understanding written language, guessing is not a plan. A comprehensive evaluation clarifies whether dyslexia is present and points toward the support that actually helps.

Who This Assessment Is For

Dyslexia testing at Kentucky Services is available starting at age 5, with two evaluation paths depending on age and clinical need.

What's Included: Age 5 and Up

  1. Clinical Interview - An initial appointment with a clinician to gather developmental, academic, and learning history.

  2. Preliminary Assessments - KBIT-2R (Kaufman Brief Intelligence Test) and the Creyos Dyslexia Protocol.

  3. Vineland Assessment - Completed with a caregiver or client; if the client is under 18, a Teacher Vineland form is also completed.

  4. Test of Dyslexia (TOD) - Administered in two parts across two in-person sessions.

  5. Diagnostic Review & Feedback - A qualified provider reviews all assessment data, renders a diagnosis, and provides recommendations and next steps.

What's Included: Age 6 and Up (Dyslexia Plus ADHD Evaluation)

For clients age 6 and older, we also offer a combined evaluation that layers an ADHD assessment on top of the standard dyslexia protocol:

  1. Clinical Interview covering developmental, academic, and learning history.

  2. Preliminary Assessments - KBIT-2R, Creyos ADHD and Dyslexia Protocol, and age-appropriate ADHD rating scales (Conners-4 for children and adolescents, or CAARS-2 for adults).

  3. Vineland Assessment, with a Teacher Vineland form for clients under 18.

  4. Test of Dyslexia (TOD), administered across two in-person sessions.

  5. Diagnostic Review & Feedback with a qualified provider.
