NUTURING PARENTING PROGRAM

What Is the Nurturing Parenting Program?

The Nurturing Parenting Program (NPP) is an evidence-based, trauma-informed family development approach designed to build positive, nurturing skills in parents and caregivers.

This program offers a structured, competency-based curriculum grounded in decades of research and practical application.  It is widely used across the United States and internationally to prevent and treat child abuse and neglect, strengthen familial bonds, and promote healthy parenting practices.

NPP targets key areas of parenting, including:

  • Age-appropriate developmental expectations

  • Empathy, bonding, and attachment

  • Nonviolent, nurturing discipline methods

  • Self-awareness, self-worth, and emotional regulation

  • Empowerment, autonomy, and healthy independence within the parent–child relationship
