Autism Assessments for Ages 24 months and older
Steps of the Assessment
Autism Assessment: Private Pay, Ages 4 to 17
Our private pay autism assessment for children and teens ages 4 to 17 follows a clear four-step process. Each step includes a scheduled appointment with a set duration, delivery method, and fee, so you know exactly what to expect from start to finish. The total cost for the complete assessment is $1,300.
Step 1: Therapeutic Intake
1 Hour Appointment | Conducted with the person being assessed | In person or telehealth | $150
The therapeutic intake is a conversation with a mental health professional to understand behaviors, communication, and daily life skills. It covers developmental history and milestones, social and communication skills such as eye contact and understanding emotions, behaviors and interests including routines and repetitive actions, sensory sensitivities, and daily living skills. The professional also observes behaviors during the appointment and may gather input from caregivers or teachers. This helps create a clear picture of the individual's needs and whether autism might be a factor.
KBIT-2 Assessment
1 Hour Appointment | Conducted with the person being assessed | In person or telehealth | $300
The KBIT-2 (Kaufman Brief Intelligence Test, Second Edition) is a brief test that measures two main areas of intelligence. Verbal intelligence looks at how well someone understands and uses words, including vocabulary and verbal reasoning. Non-verbal intelligence measures how well someone can solve problems without using words, such as recognizing patterns and solving visual puzzles. Together, these scores give a general picture of how someone processes information, learns, and solves problems in everyday life.
ADOS-2 Assessment
2 Hour Appointment | Conducted in person with the person being assessed | $600
The ADOS-2 (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition) is a structured play and conversation session used by professionals to help determine whether someone has autism. Using a set of activities and prompts, the clinician observes social interaction, verbal and non-verbal communication, play and imagination, and repetitive behaviors. It is not a test that can be passed or failed. Instead, it gives the professional a structured way to observe the behaviors that matter most for an autism diagnosis.
Qualified Provider Interview
1 Hour Appointment | In person or telehealth | $250
The final step is an appointment with a Qualified Provider (QP), who reviews the intake information and assessment results as part of the diagnostic process. This appointment completes the assessment.
