MEGAN RICHARDS, MSN, APRN-CNP, PMHNP-BC

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

MEET MEGAN (she/her/hers)

My clinical philosophy is rooted in empowerment: I believe the patient is the driver of their own treatment. My role is to serve as an educator and guide, providing the tools and evidence-based insights necessary for you or your child to make informed decisions on your mental health journey. I work with children aged 3+ and have experience working with children and adolescents who have experienced trauma, helping them find healing and resilience, as well as supporting individuals with ADHD and autism in developing effective management techniques.

While I am passionate about supporting individuals across the entire lifespan, I feel a profound calling toward pediatrics and adolescent care. Growing up in a family of pediatricians—including my father and sister—I developed an early appreciation for the unique needs of younger populations. Having spent my entire ten-year career working with children and adolescents in inpatient settings, I am deeply committed to helping the next generation navigate their mental health challenges with resilience and hope.

As a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), I provide holistic, patient-centered care for individuals across the lifespan, specializing in the assessment and management of ADHD, anxiety, and depression. My practice is dedicated to: Pediatric & Adolescent Care: Supporting children (ages 4+) and teens navigating behavioral challenges, academic struggles, and emotional regulation. I emphasize a biopsychosocial approach, collaborating closely with families and schools to ensure developmental and functional success. Adult Mental Health: Partnering with adults to address the complexities of adult ADHD, chronic worry, and mood disorders that impact career and personal fulfillment. Integrated Treatment Philosophy: I combine evidence-based psychopharmacology with supportive psychotherapy and psychoeducation. My goal is not just symptom reduction, but empowering patients through a strengths-based lens to foster long-term resilience and quality of life.

Outside of the clinic, my life is centered around family. I am a proud parent to two young children, ages 5 and 1.5, and a devoted pet lover with three dogs at home. I understand firsthand the importance of a supportive home environment and bring that same warmth and dedication to every family I serve.
