NYLA PARKER, CSW

Certified Social Worker

MEET NYLA (she/her/hers)

My approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to each client's unique needs and goals. My experience working with a wide range of ages and family systems has shaped how I understand the impact of past and present experiences, relationships, and environments on the way we see ourselves, connect with others, and respond to life's challenges. My work is informed by psychodynamic principles and family systems theory, with attention to how early experiences and relational patterns shape current thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we explore these patterns with curiosity and compassion while developing practical skills to create meaningful, sustainable change. I draw from evidence-based approaches such as CBT, DBT, IFS-informed work, family systems therapy, and play therapy, while maintaining a trauma-informed perspective.
I specialize in working with children (4+), adolescents, and adults experiencing trauma-related concerns, anxiety, depression, emotional and behavioral regulation difficulties, and family conflict. With children and adolescents, I focus on building emotional awareness, strengthening regulation skills, developing healthy coping strategies, and improving confidence. I work closely with caregivers, when appropriate, to strengthen parent-child relationships and create more supportive home environments. I strive to make therapy engaging and developmentally appropriate by tailoring sessions to each client's age, interests, strengths, and goals and incorporating play therapy, games, creative activities, and interactive interventions as needed. I also bring specialized training in Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), which has strengthened my understanding of how trauma impacts emotional regulation, relationships, and behavior over time. Whether working with an individual, couple, or family, my goal is to support greater insight, stability, and connection in the areas that matter most.
